Maintaining Clear Boundaries Between Services

At Windborne House, I market two distinct services: psychotherapy and creative counsel, and offer one service: creative counsel. Psychotherapy services are offered through Walk Intuit Inc. To provide the highest standard of care and maintain appropriate ethical boundaries, I do not accept creative clients as therapy clients, nor do I accept therapy clients as creative clients.

Why this policy exists:

Ethical Standards
The California Board of Behavioral Sciences and professional ethical codes prohibit dual relationships that could impair professional judgment or exploit the therapeutic relationship.

Therapeutic Integrity
The psychotherapy relationship requires specific boundaries, confidentiality, and power dynamics that cannot coexist with a business/creative consulting relationship.

Your Protection
This policy protects you from potential conflicts of interest and role confusion and ensures you receive undivided, appropriate professional attention.

What this means:

  • If you are currently or have been a therapy client, I cannot provide creative counsel or any other service aside from psychotherapy.

  • If you are currently or have been a creative client, I cannot provide psychotherapy services to you.

  • If our professional relationship ends, a significant amount of time must pass before considering a different type of service, and only after careful legal and ethical consultation in accordance with the BBS and CAMFT.

Referrals
If you need both services, I am happy to refer you to trusted colleagues who can provide the service I cannot offer you.

Questions?
If you have questions about this policy or how it applies to your situation, please don't hesitate to ask.

This policy ensures that all professional relationships remain clear, boundaried, and in your best interest.
